Your First (and Second) Orders

To solidify for yourselves the distinction between first- and second-order knowledge claims, please compose two of each. As you did in class today, begin by identifying a real-life situation, then extract a first-order knowledge claim, then a second-order claim. repeat the process for a second real-life situation, this time in a different Area of Knowledge.
